- Does it work on every kind of wall?
Yes — Smart Wall Scanner is built to handle real walls, not just lab conditions. It scans through drywall, plaster, and wood with three depth settings, so whether you're dealing with a thin partition wall or a thicker, older-construction one, you can dial it in and get an accurate read.
- Will it find pipes and live wires too?
Non-contact senses the field around a conductor without touching it and covers 30 to 1000 V — that is the mode for a first check on a socket, a fitting or a cable. Contact mode puts the tip on the conductor and reads 11 to 450 V, which covers lower-voltage work like automotive and appliance circuits. Both are for 50–60 Hz AC.

Move it steadily along the wall. The backlit LCD and the audio alert both tell you the moment you reach the edge of a stud, so you cannot misread it.
Check, mark, then drill
Sweep from both sides to mark both edges and find the true centre. Switch to Deep Scan first to check for pipes and live wiring before the drill goes anywhere near the wall.
